I live out of state and recently placed an order for a sympathy bouquet for someone who had just experienced a devastating loss, selecting same-day delivery. I never received a delivery confirmation, so I called to confirm that my order had arrived.

The man who answered the phone assumed I was another customer who had called earlier about a different order for the same recipient. His tone was curt, and after I explained I was a different customer with a separate order, he made an insensitive comment suggesting that the grieving recipient “should call people and let them know she received the flowers,” noting that multiple people had called previously about their deliveries to her.

Given the nature of my order—a sympathy arrangement for someone mourning a significant loss—this comment was both inappropriate and deeply lacking in compassion. No one should be expected to promptly contact multiple people to confirm receipt of flowers while navigating such profound grief.

Additionally, the fact that several people ordered flowers from this shop for the same person should be a point of gratitude for the business, not frustration. Unfortunately, due to the unprofessional and insensitive handling of my call, I will not be ordering from this business again and will advise my family in the area to take their business elsewhere.

Shoutout to Gardendale Floral Co. for their amazing service! I placed an order online Sat from our small group of friends to give to a friend whose grandmother had passed. Stephen followed up first thing Monday morning to confirm details, and by that afternoon, I picked up the most beautiful arrangement—absolutely perfect. Quick, thoughtful, and so thorough. It truly means a lot when a business goes the extra mile. So grateful—thank you! 💐

Ordered flowers for a funeral. The man on the phone was rude, insensitive, and seemed confused. I ordered a standing heart shaped arrangement in purple. It looked nothing like the picture online. There were more white flowers than purple. It was round and not heart shaped. It was falling apart and flowers were falling off of it during the ceremony. It was way smaller than it appeared on the website. It was definitely not worth the $300 spent.

What I asked for VS what I received. I would honestly rate it 0/5 if it was an option. I am highly disappointed with the flowers I received. The flowers that I received looks absolutely nothing like what I SPECIFICALLY asked for. I spoke to the owner Steve about the flowers that I wanted which were the Pink & Picturesque flower arrangement on their website. There were special instructions that I gave to Steve and sales associates, specifically asking for the flowers to be very big and the vase likewise. We discussed a pink vase, which I didn’t receive, we discussed a bow to go on the flowers which I didn’t receive. If you look at the details of the flowers on the website compared to the flowers I received, you’ll clearly see that it’s not at all equivalent. Price ≠ Quality. I tried to keep it professional by calling several times, however, I received no response. So, this is absolutely necessary. A professional business/brand is NOT supposed to be executed this way. False advertising and lack of accountability can truly deteriorate a company’s reputation.

Do not be mislead by the lovely photos on their google business listing. Listen, I understand that there may be substitutions made based on availability, but this was so disappointing. My Mother-in-Love is a business owner in Gardendale with impeccable taste and an eye for lovely things and I wanted her to feel special for her birthday. I spent so much time pouring over the bouquet selections. I wanted her to say “Oh WOW” when the delivery was made. I wanted customers that came into her store to remark on her beautiful birthday flowers. Honestly I’m embarrassed that I sent her these. Embarrassed that she would think what was delivered was what I selected and sent. So disappointing and a waste of money. Photos are what was ordered vs delivered.

I stopped by on very short notice and asked if they could help me with an order of flowers I needed in a hurry. A very helpful fellow I believe named Steven took my order and from my very vague description put together a perfect arrangement, and charged me what I thought was a very fair price. They've definitely earned my repeat business.

Separately.. the owner registered to be a sponsor for the MOE Fall Festival and then refused to pay (after company was already represented as a sponsor, receiving the advertisement associated)

Placed an online order for a delivery that never came. Even worse, when I called to ask why, the response I received was belligerent, sarcastic and rude to the point of hostile. Do not do business with these people.

I would give zero stars if I could. The worst florist experience ever. Not only were the flowers not ready after I called days in advance, the arrangement was very small and not worth what I paid. I have called several times to request a refund or a remake with no answer. Not impressed. Will not recommend.

I ordered a casket blanket of flowers for my mother in law. I was so pleasantly surprised at how well the flowers matched everything as my mother in law had chosen a pink casket in her pre-need plan. The flowers were stunning. They were fresh, colorful and full. I will definitely use Gardendale Floral again.

Ordered a standing spray for my uncle’s funeral. I’m very particular, and it makes it harder being out of state. Steve did a wonderful job creating what I wanted. He even took a photo for me after delivery.

I highly dislike ordering flowers for out of state funerals. You never know if what you ordered is nice even though you pay for it to be or did it even make it to the funeral home. Gardendale Floral Co. delivered the most beautiful Peace Lily I have ever seen. The recipient loved it. Thank you Gardendale Floral. I wish all florists had your quality and high standards.

I will never use this florist again. I ordered a dish garden for a funeral of a close family friend. I love dish gardens and that is my go-to when ordering for funerals so I am aware of what I should get for my money. I would say "at best" the dish garden I got maybe was worth $50. While it was pretty, it was so small I was totally embarrassed. A close friend said she was very disappointed in her purchase as well. I definitely do NOT recommend this company.

When you buy a product or flowers you expect them to last more than a day. I have this special bear I took in for a Christmas arrangement. Picked it up on Tuesday and today the flowers are wilted and the greener looking dry and brittle .

I called this morning and the lady said bring it in and we will redo the arrangement.
Ask my husband to stop by to pick it up. The florist tells him the flowers were frozen. Did I leave the bear in the car. No I didn’t the vase was bought into the houseTuesday sat it on my counter. Expecting something to last at least until Christmas. Dead greenery and wilted flowers.
When you pay for an arrangement you expect quality. Your freezer may be set to a certain temperature, and my home is too.
You did replace the flowers but never accused someone of trying get something free.. you should stand behind your arrangements.

Very disappointed. Had a besutiful arrangement made for my niece's Memorial and overnight the hydrangeas turned brown. I sent pictures and called several times with no response.

Excellent service and product! We used Gardendale Floral Co for our wedding in September. Steve helped us choose flower species and colors appropriately.
Steve was amazingly patient with our changes and additions to the order. Delivered on time and with care. Will be using this local floral shop again in the future.

I spent $150 on flowers for my anniversary on 9/2. I know my anniversary is around Labor Day so I have used big brand flower delivery services in the past like 1800 flowers, but this year I wanted to do something local and was hoping for something special. According to their ordering website they would deliver on 9/2 and so I attempted to call and confirm but got no answer. With time running out I ordered on 8/28 (I work nights so it’s hard to coordinate with normal business hours) for delivery on 9/2. 9/2 came and went and so did Sunday and Monday. So on Monday I left a message with their machine since I assumed they were closed for Labor Day. On Tuesday I waited a few hours after they opened to see if I would get a call or any kind of notice that there had been a mistake on their part. I received nothing from them so I called around 10:30 AM and asked the employee who answered about my order. I explained I ordered for delivery on 9/2 and was told “oh we were closed that day”. Interesting considering everything online and through your delivery service said you were open but that’s fine if you were closed, I just do not understand why I was never given any notice that this order wouldn’t be delivered. I ordered it 5 days in advance giving the shop plenty of time to respond, not only that but when I did receive confirmation from the employee that they had messed up the only options I was given were to refund the order or continue with the delivery that day for full price. That is absolutely ridiculous customer service and the fact I wasn’t even offered a discount to still use their services after they messed up is beyond me. I do not recommend this company and I would not recommend using them in the future.

On our way to an aunt's 80th birthday party and wanted to get her some flowers for the occasion. So glad I stopped here! Spent almost $40 on this beautiful arrangement and would have maybe only spent a few dollars less at Publix but from Publix i don't feel like the arrangement would have been as well put together and it wouldn't have come with the card and card stick. Will def be back for any future flower needs.
